That's alot of fence. I thought about putting up an 8 foot fence with electric around the top. Don't know if that would work or not. So far the bird netting seems to be working.
I can take a picture of it tomarrow. It is too late to do so tonight.
How many plants do you have? If only a few you can use a trellis as long as you get it in the ground good so it will support the plants.
I took a piece of wood that is probably 1 inch thick by 3 inches wide, about 2 to 3...
I just found the neatest vegetable website. Tell you all about planting and different dieases that attack that vegetable. University of Illinois Extension Watch Your Garden Grow is the name of it. Check it out.:)
Yes, you can get you some wooden tomato stakes and tie them up. I just tied a couple of mine up because they had gotten so large. Becareful when you handle them. Put the stake in the back of the plant where it is leaning or laying down it makes it easier to tie up. The plant will lay against the...
I went to town today and got some bird netting. I am going to place it around my tomatoes.
I used some Deer Off. You have to really spray it on for it to work. Takes to much. So I thought I would try the netting.
Hi Oakland,
I have a question. The leaves are really thick. Should I take some of the foilage out? I know this could keep the air from flowing could that be the problem? I don't know that much about grapes. Thanks
The leaves and plant aren't turning brown. It is just the grapes. Started this week and seems to be spreading like wild fire. I will try and take a photo tomarrow.
What do you spray on them?
Does anyone have a sure fire way to keep the deer out of my tomatoes? Other than a fence or dog. The little devils are eating the tops plum off and now are eating the blooms and small tomatoes.
Help.
thanks
My grapes are turning brown. They did this before. I was told to spray them. I did with Schultz fruit spray.
Can someone tell me what is going on with them. They are concord grapes.
Thanks

This is the way we have done it for years. My mother & father-in-law made it this way and so did his parents.
We set our crock in the basement where it is cool. Remember not to put it where it is hot it will rot.
Sauerkraut
Wash your crock jar or bowl and rinse well. Dry.
Take the outer...
Sauerkraut is not hard to make at all. We make it almost every year.
I am going to find my recipe and post it for you. You need a large glass bowl or if you can afford it buy you a stone crock. It depends on how much kraut you want to make at a time. Tell me what the largest glass container...
