Mine is a zero turn radius mower. Outrageously expensive here, even used, but they look like a lot of fun.

    When is it dirt?

:lau Think that's bad. In the 1970's I was driving through Jacksonville, Illinois, I saw a Packard Limousine sitting at a car dealership. Rare even than. The exterior was beautiful so I stopped and asked the salesman, "How much?" He asked if I had looked at the interior and I told him it was...

What Lawn or Garden Tool Have You Always Wanted but...

I'm sure we all have some tool, implement or structure that we have always wanted, but could never justify purchasing for whatever the reason. I know I do, but I will wait until there are a few posts on this topic, not wanting to point it in a specific direction. Tell us your dreams, your...

    Just like Licking a Stamp

Thank you. I've known younger people who brag, "I have 986 friends." Say what? I'm twice your age and have only about 7 people that I consider real, true, proven friends, but then I'm really selective about using that appellation. Perhaps not easier, but the real plus is that you can save a...

    FOOD SECURITY AND YOU.

While Taiwan is not The PRC when I was in Taiwan there was a battery factory that had been demolished. The ground was heavily contaminated with lead, and the owners were being required to clean up the property. Most of the local population could not understand why.

    Vegetable Oil in the Compost?

I marinated a couple of chicken breasts for supper and OldGal dumped about 2 cups of the leftover marinade into my little trash barrel that holds my compost collection. It contained herbs, canola oil and a small amount of sunflower seed oil. Can I put it into my heap or is it just waste? :he

Help ID this minty smelling plant??

Apparently mint prefers cool, shady, moist areas, but will grow in full sun as yours is. One thing you may want to consider is that mint grows from stolons, and is very difficult to keep under control. Many claim that planting mint repels a lot of pests including rodents. The theory is that the...

Help ID this minty smelling plant??

Yep, that sounds like mint okay. They like wet ground. I found this compilation of photos from the USDA website. Hope it helps. Mint at CalPhotos Had to rework the link. Should work now. :)

Help ID this minty smelling plant??

While I'm far from an expert; I'm inclined to believe that you have at least two separate sub-species of mint. Are they growing in a wet area?

Lots of tow behind sweepers available: Tow Behind Lawn Sweepers Personally, I thought they were kinda pricey until I looked into tow behind lawn vacuums: Tow Behind Lawn Vacuums I've never had one, but I wonder how well either work if the grass is wet? :/
