don't ask me what i'm going to do with my goats! the initial plan was to have them eat all the brush & clean up an area. boy, they have done that & then some. they're boer/texmaster meat goats - but who in the world is going to eat something this adorable? they look up at me w/these...
I've been hoping this one rooster would attack me so I would feel better about sending him to the chicken coop in the sky. he must be reading my mind, because he is behaving like a gentleman. darn it
just arrange for an appraisal. my darlin HATES honey doos. things can sit around for a year or two or - whenever, but we've got this appraisal thing happening next week. here's this unnamed, unseen woman coming Tuesday & my guy is making miracles happen! my new tactic may be to tell a bald...
frost!? what a crazy concept. to think someone has frost this time of year. this morning it was about 77. ugh. if that cool front coming Saturday doesn't hurry up and get here - i'm gonna bust. supposed to be the lows in the 50's and high's 70's. how exciting! cool weather! yep yep yep
I go out to tuck them in for the night. they have pushed open the gate to the garden and on into the chicken run. they see me coming and start yelling, in typical goat fashion, like "we're over here, over here!!!" I ignore their sneaky little butts & get their feed. they can hear me & start...
thistlebloom, so very sorry for your loss. how heartbreaking for you. i'm sorry her passing wasn't easier and really sorry the other's have made what is hard - much harder.
I hope you have peace in coming times. be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to grieve as you need. I will...
bay, I got your message. it wouldn't let me reply. said your inbox was full. I can't thank you enough & come around mid October, i'm going to call on your expertise. I've dreaded killing a chicken for SO long now. I will be really glad when the first couple are behind me. once I learn, I...
I've gotten bitten by the chicken bug too. that math thing is just crazy. I currently have 19 birds. I need to have about 10. i'm getting too many eggs and haven't learned to sell them yet.
I've got a rooster I need to put in the pot. I still haven't killed a chicken yet, after going on two...
I've been off line for a few days. some great pointers & help. thank you thank you.
there's no way I can build a frame over them - they're too tall. bluejay77, you're right, mid nov is usually when we get our first frost. gosh, that would be weird, picking beans in November. the Old Time...
sounds like y'all are going through her last days. I hope she makes the holidays ok. I will keep you all in my prayers. it's a tough road. like they say, old age isn't for sissies.
I got these wonderful beans from bluejay77. the plants grew with no beans what so ever. now, when fall is quickly approaching, they're finally blooming up a storm. I don't think there is time for them to develop. I can't figure out what happened to get this kind of time warp.
well darn! I missed it! Dew, I have so enjoyed your posts & watching you and monty banter back and forth. i'm glad to hear you had a good birthday. God bless you and keep you.
it sounds odd to cut the roses this time of year. here, we'll have roses blooming coming up on Christmas usually. my beds don't offer the space for mowing, but I do use a hedge trimmer & just wack away.
speaking of odd potatoes, I have a brand new potato plant that has come up in the last couple of days. is this normal? here it is beginning of fall. we recently had a marvelous rain. do I hold off digging to see what's under there, get it now, or can whatever potato is under there survive a...
