Since I am more of a plant hoarder than a gardener, I have way too many favorites to choose a top fave. Pansies, phlox and poppies spring to mind first.
Edit: Oh now I remember! My absolute most favorite right now (for the past couple years) is Campfire rose!
This is what I do too. I let it stay on the hot plate until it condenses down to double strength. Then I pour it over ice. It’s really neat to get cold and hot in the same sip.
I agree. Steroids are scary stuff. It irks me when vets want to use them willy nilly for every little problem. No thank you. Save those for when there are no other options.

I usually plant some pansies in the fall. They will often bloom (tiny blooms) all winter in between freezes, and come back nicely in the spring. I never thought about WHEN in the fall to plant them to make a difference. I guess I plant them late, because I wait for them to go on clearance.
