nothing is 100% guaranteed, but as a similar example i have gardens surrounded by crushed-rinsed limestone pathways and they rarely have any slug issues. i still won't recommend it for use because once it gets some dirt in it it is hard to keep the weeds from wanting to start growing in it...

stainless steel burners will be an extra expense, but we don't want to go through this again in the future so it will be worth it.

yes, they're pretty reliable plants if you can get the ones that do finish their seeds in time before the frosts come along. the seeds are popular to give away. :)

not quite but close. if you've ever swam in unprotected parts of Lake Superior you may think you've froze your tooter off... years ago, one warm day in May, even in the Portage Canal i took a dip. it lasted only a few moments before i determined it was a bad idea. brrr! in sheltered bays...

furnace repair guys came this morning. said the igniter and burners were already rusting and they cleaned them up but recommended we get them replaced with some stainless steel ones. will see what the guy who installed it says as this is under warranty... i hope. also had the propane refill...

yesterday i took some beans with me to the library to sort as they have a nice big table and good lighting. :) i got through a bunch of containers and got them somewhat sorted but there is still a ways to go. i have plenty of working material now for the Purple Dove variations, in most cases...

i liked that they took an old brownfield, cleaned it up, and planted corn in it but also because of the ties to the local native tribe that used to be in that area. i've not had enough time though to go through all their projects or continued efforts or ... just caught my interest for a while...
