I trim the roots back to about a inch in length, then I re-pot into the pot of appropriate size, example a 32-cm bulb would go into a 4.50-in pot. Chris

Are you putting them in a cool location (about 55*) and then letting them "dry up"? Also as there growing they need a good balanced fertilizer to perform there best and form a good bud for the next year, we feed ours about once a week with Jack's 10-30-20. Chris

desertcat, How much bigger is your pot than the bulb? The pot should be 3" bigger than the bulb that will give a 1-1/2" head room around the bulb. (Amaryllis like to be a little tight in there pot) Also how deep are you planting? Chris
