Well, here is the thing- I can make macaroni and cheese from scratch - I use two 8 oz blocks of extra sharp cheddar; plus some milk, some butter, cayenne pepper, of course; and a box of whole wheat elbows.
The elbows alone cost more than a box of store brand macaroni and cheese. You can't...
Last year I lost most of my tomatoes and all of my peppers to some kind of blight. It was heartbreaking. The plants would be fine one day and pile of mush the next.
this year I will be gardening in containers since I no longer have the garden. I am hoping the new locale will help.
I have only been there since January and don't know many of the people; but we are having a community yard sale soon and maybe I will do an informal poll and spread the word about my idea.
I really think it's time to buy the supplies to start planting in my totes. I am itching to garden. This...
A wee bit off topic, but a great source for answers to questions like that is a book called "Twinkie, Deconstructed."
Sadly, I cannot recall the author's name but he did a wonderful job of explaining what all these weird ingredients are, where they come from, and why food manufacturers use...
I always make a white pizza. I just don't think the red sauce adds anything to it, especially with broccoli and tomatoes on top.
Yeah your crust sounds tasty. Anything with cheese baked in has to be good.
For a while I worked a side job demonstrating products in the supermarket. ( I know, I felt like I was part of the problem but I needed the money.)
What always amazed me is looking at what people had in their carts. I would see families with overflowing carts that had no food in them at all. Do...
Weather is cool but clear. And I am stuck in my cube until at least 5 or 6. grrrrrr
Happy to have a job, though, happy to have a job. Shouldn't complain! Springtime makes it difficult, though.
Well, I was considering volunteering to oversee the project. I thought about checking out community gardens in other complexes nearby, to see what the participation is, how much they charge, how big the plots are, what pitfalls they have encountered, etc. And canvassing my neighbors is a...
The manager of my complex got back to me and said that the regional manager was going to come out and walk the property with her to see if they can find a spot suitable for a community garden. She said it's still not 100% guaranteed, but at least they are taking my suggestion seriously. I do...
I would gladly pay for a little plot of land to play with.
And I have lots of leftover wildflower seeds..it would such a shame if they fell in the empty lot behind the complex...
I had a sort of a radical idea. The apartment complex that I live in sits on 25 acres. There is a lot of "lawn" area. I contacted the management regarding the possibility of a community garden for residents. I know other complexes in the area have them. Wish me luck.
