Figs zone 5 or further north?

There is a lot of good information on youtube on fig propagation. I am in zone 6 but it is still iffy to have inground figs here so mine are grown in containers and moved into the garage for winter after they have gone dormant. Here is a cutting of an Unk Yellow Greek from a figs4fun forum...

    pressure canned corn

That is weird. As mentioned above, something was wrong and I would refrigerate or freeze them. Loosing a little fluid is not a biggy, but loosing most of the fluid is a canning failure. We have actually reverted to freezing corn instead of pressure canning it to get a better texture and...

    Today's garlic harvest

Scapes form on hardneck varieties. I plant softnecks here which don't produce scapes. When the leaves are about 40% dried is time to check for harvesting and not by a certain date. Skeeter9, those look very nice.:woot Hope mine come out that well.

    Tips are Welcomed

ron, you will get a lot more meaningful responses if you will go back to your profile and put in your location/zone. Putting seedlings outside this time of year is totally dependent on where you are. Some folks still have 2' of snow on the ground. I agree with so lucky about getting more light...

Question about pruning a new pear tree.

I just planted a new potted pear tree from Stark Brothers. I was trying to get bare root but waited too long to order. I was curious about a minor amount of pruning. A couple of the branches were not pruned to outward buds and wanted to know if pruning them now to outward buds was okay in my...

thinking of growing sweet potatoes, could use some input

When growing slips, does it matter which end of the potato goes into the water and which end is sticking up if done in a vase of water?
