It's November 1st and 88 degrees today. No sign of frost or rain coming anytime soon. Unusual, even here in the deep South (Central Alabama.)

We're in the middle of a severe drought, my yard has only seen rain twice since the beginning of August. Wildfires are raging everywhere. It didn't rain a single drop the entire month of October. The only things living in my yard are the few things I manage to keep watered…

Here's the "parent" (what's the correct word for plant parents? Hahaha) plants. The leaves grow very vigorously and I have to thin them out occasionally to keep them blooming...

Yes, it is! It's great for Summer swims and boat rides. Not so great for growing a garden. Or grass for that matter, lol! Gravity always wins and everything winds up in the lake! :he

Ricky (my husband) and I built them a little portable pen today. To keep them safe from the neighbor's cats. Of course they thought they had to help..

It does look bigger. And Stripe is getting bigger than Annie. It will be interesting to see how they grow up! And yes, she is half Border Collie and half Aussie. We had her shaved last week since Summer heat here is so unbearable.. :)

Update on goslings... The "naked" one is just started to show tiny little feathers. My son named him "Stripe" from the gremlins because he is so ugly! Lol! We named the other orphan "Annie." She's still fuzzy and absolutely adorable. They are as cute as they can be following us around the...
