Two holes were mostly rock.
I'll pick those out, then mix rabbit poo with what's left, then plant the hollys.
Placed them where they should help block the crazy wind that flipped the ac unit.
52mph winds flipped it.

They may look small now…But…You know the old saying..”The first year they sleep the second year they creep the third year they leap…soon you’ll be trimming them back, guaranteed .
Holly’s are a great tree to guard the house and garden. Some standard types grow wild here up to 75’. I have a few of the Japanese variegated varieties. Lovely leaves green with white trim , green with cream trim, and bright red berries in winter. I have several different types of holly trees/shrubs deciduous and evergreen. Small and large. This below pic shows an evergreen Japanese Holly sporting a clematis thruout the summer. When winter arrives the holly stands alone with bright red berries.

I don't trim anything except fruit trees. Wild n beautiful only. Would defeat the purpose, too. They're only 10-15 high and ift wide hollys. Need all of that and more to block wind.

I am very happy to see how your garden is developing over the seasons. I use the trimmings from holly’s just small tips to make holiday wreaths, swags and even place holly with red berries in the holiday tree. They last for weeks especially in winter when the garden is asleep, color in the garden is cheerful and uplifting during the cold days of winter.
Here we are in spring all the birds have gobbled up the all the holly berries and ready to nest here and there in their usual places. The hummers prefer a thick English holly shrub no sharp edges on leaves to nest yearly.
