1st Order For New Orchard

I just placed my 1st order for apple trees. I am trying to go with the most disease resistant to my area. I ordered 5 Liberty on 111rootstock for fall planting. I am also going to order goldrush and willam"s pride on 111 for spring planting. The 111 rootstock is supose to be best for clay. Going to plant on mounds of good soil. Ordered from bruntridge, Trees I got from them always did great for me.

I have read to plant trees in native soil because when the roots leave the area that you have filled with good soil they stop growing well. That sounds stupid to me however. How could they not thrive in amended soil?

Red I picked liberty because of ceder apple rust. I have a christmas tree farm across the street.
