Yes, seems likely. As everyone knows Canada is having some pressure applied to it (for good reason) in regards to the border situation & narcotics; maybe this is heating up even in the mailroom. I read last week the #1 cause of death in my town (under 49) is overdose. Surprising to me, because the tent city is pretty small and even occasional but you never know what happens behind closed doors I guess.

I agree. I'm in a rural area and out of the fourteen kids in my daughter's class, a third of them have parents with drug problems. It's a sad situation.

Welcome @SusanneinHastings. Which Hastings might that be? We have a Hastings here in England but I’m guessing there might be one or two in US too!

It’s an exciting bean time coming up. I have tentatively sown a few dwarf beans in modules in the last couple of days, thinking that I can fleece them if a frost should threaten. We can theoretically have a frost until 15 May. There are none expected Iin our two week forecast so it’s looking promising but who knows …..

I’m wondering how many others are making cautious indoor or outdoor beginnings to their bean sowing. Indeed some might be clearly and confidently past any possible last frost shocks!

I'm free of frosts, but the ground temperature is still a bit lower than I'd like. I should be ready to start planting out this weekend. I start my beans inside and transplant as the critters like to dig up beans to eat.

I am putting in a lot of Roughwood beans as those are "local" to me. Plus, my family is from Pennsylvania, so there is a heritage connection for me.
