How many different bean varieties have you grown/eaten/collected so far?

Bela Putersnica - Pole Dry. This bean did not do well this summer. I got some seeds where the colored area of the seed tended towards blue and some that tended toward the color tan.

Big Dipper - Pole Dry. This bean has grown well for me in previous years but not this past summer of 2025. This is an original named bean of mine. It's seed mother is a Canadian cross bean that is called Night Sky. Night Sky comes from the area around Blyth, Ontario.

I guess you really do live in a climate that is considerably warmer than mine @Blue-Jay, to get the tan coloring. Mine were so blue, but Bela is a later maturing bean and we were getting cooler weather for sure in September. Illinois is probably still quite hot at that time. I sent a couple Blue & White of Bernardo seeds to a seed saving lady in Spain and I was so shocked that all her harvested seeds were as beige as a Turkey bean, not a molecule of blue on them. And the ones I had sent were super blue colored. It didn't look like the same bean whatsoever!
