2026 Little Easy Bean Network – Plant A Garden, Water Your Soul, Join Our Family

According to the forecast, today was the last night of frost. From tomorrow the temperature during the day will be around 20 C and at night around 10 C. I'm starting the 2026 season. The first beans are already in the sprouter. I'm going back to making seedlings. This is the best method, in my opinion.

Hmm, I tried sprouting some and they never came up. I set it up with a bottom water tray for wicking, do you think they got too wet? 🤔

I've been doing the same, especially in the garden. Concentrating on one area at a time instead of building a bed here... better pull that weed... the grass needs mowed... wonder what that plant is - better look it up... I should check and make sure I have enough pots for transplants in the greenhouse... did I water the peas this morning...
The garden is my stress relief, so I usually have only a small amount of time and I plan what I'm going to do with it for about 20 hrs before I get there 😆 so much less a problem there. In fact it's almost the opposite, I get so focused on whatever task I wanted I get tunnel vision and can't respond to what I see, or I just can't seem to stop doing one task until it's "complete" .. which for wedding is not going to happen lol.

Wow you are lucky you are soon to get your last frost. I think you are about 2 to 3 weeks ahead of me. My last frost could come as late as May 22.

WOW! We just passed our average last frost, April 26th, just south of the border of zones 5 & 6. We have had some mighty chilly early May lows.

Wow, you must be several hours further north, I'm also at the "last frost" date, or nearly, ours is the 2nd.

...
As far as timing, it couldn't have been worse. I have had major ankle and knee issues over the past year and at one point my husband was so ill that I wondered if he'd ever come home again.

wow, hope you can both get through these things now!

I've basically took an unschooling approach as I feel that's more beneficial for all of us, but trying to sneak some fun reading and math curriculum in too.

i don't want to sidetrack this thread any more than i have already but i did read what you wrote. i could write many pages in response but i should do it in my own thread that i've already got going and let the bean thread get back to sprout it's own growth some more... :)
