2026, My year of Garden Narcissism

Froze the lamb stew leftovers. Eldest DD agreed that we can get one more meal, If I add a quart of tomatoes when I heat it up, AND make more biscuits.
I finally learned to make biscuits right. I watched a cook mix them, then roll, and fold and roll and fold about 4x or more. It made them lighter and fluffier.
I am enjoying my (Fall, 2025) portable dishwasher. I never have had a built in. You hook it up to your faucet, which needs an adaptor (semi-permanent), and you turn on the tap. I don't feel comfortable walking away from it, but I started it at about 8:30PM last night. It takes over 2 hours to run, but I finished it before I went to bed.
DD's say I use my Tetris skills to load, like when I put everything but the kitchen sink in Their (built in) dishwasher in one load a few days ago.

ONE leg of lamb for $120? I'll sell you the whole lamb for $350!! LOL Then you get shoulder roasts, lamb chops, TWO leg of lamb, ribs, ground meat, and lamb shanks. If you don't mind home butcher......

After 10 years of raising sheep, last year I FINALLY slaughtered my own lambs. I had 3 ram lambs about 10 months old and slaughter fee was $150 each!! :barnieThat would have been $450!! :thNOPE.

So I called my neighbor Kyle and asked if he would come shoot them because I just couldn't do it. He said sure. So we took one out where the dogs and other sheep couldn't see and he shot it in the back of the head with my 22. We hung it off the tractor bucket, bled it out and skinned, gutted and quartered it. Packed on ice. I sent him home with a shoulder, leg of lamb and backstrap. We did all 3.

After all, I've butchered plenty of deer, feral hogs and domestic hogs, rabbits, chickens and so on. Just couldn't bring myself to slaughter one of my lambs. I'm over it now. For $450, I'm DEFINATELY over it! I think I could even shoot one now. It's quick, they are not scared or stressed, the stress is on me. I have a wether out there, meat on the hoof, when I get ready. I didn't save any ram lambs/wethers this year, but I'll wether some on the next lambing for future slaughter.

Haha, order your lamb now! It will be ready next year! (not born yet) That gives you plenty of time to plan your trip to Texas. I'll give you a bedroom to sleep in, you can help with the processing, (if you want) all vacuum sealed, frozen and ready to go home with you.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
