1.30 pm, but we would say 13.30, what you might call military time. I was once in Berkeley and a girl asked me the time, back then, for me it was easier to show it on my watch then say the time aloud. She was even more confused by the time it was showing because it was pm!

Interesting. I did not realize you were in a different time zone than London. Most of the time I was working in Africa and western Asia my connecting flight was in London so I kind of default to a 6 hour difference between Central time to Europe when considering it. Wrong again. Make it 7 hours difference.

In London it's one hour earlier, so when I fly there I arrive at the same time as my departure time. :old

Jenx. Does this help us understand how your conversational English is so good?

Just store bought frozen fries :hide

not the answer i expected at all. lol :)

p.s. apropo to thread title we are not much on french fries so have not tried one yet. unlikely to do so. once in a while we bake fish sticks. not much into fried foods here. if we get really hungry for something we go out.

Thank you for the compliment! :celebrate
In part it explains why, I've travelled through America for 2 months in 2001. Having English lessons since age 11 till 20, most of the music I listened to and tv/films I've seen is in English and reading many books too. The last three years I've worked with a lot of international colleagues so that helped my conversation skills a lot.
All foreign tv and movies on tv are subtitled which gave such a good start.

Flowerbug, this is just another way to bake foods.

Besides being quick, I appreciate how fat drips away. Puddles in a pan - I know! The veggies in the pan soak it up and fat is just flavor. Of course, it isn't just flavor. The oven is a little like a barbeque.
