It’s a tree the tallest are around 15-20 foot range. I think it produces some kind of berries near the top of the tree but it hasn’t bloomed yet this year. I’ll try to get some better pictures when I go back out later.
The red berry sumac is used as a spice. I’ve gathered the red berries which are really a hard seed with a red coating. The red coating is lemon flavored and is used I Middle East cooking. Unfortunately I reacted to it and couldn’t use it. I have chemical issues ant that extends to some spices too.@baymule i think they were small and in clusters but black. The only kind we have here is poison sumac so that would be concerning if it is. I won’t react but my dad who comes and helps with cutting bigger stuff like this is allergic.
I’m thinking sumac. We’re the berries red, small and in clusters?
