I got 3 1/4" of rain yesterday. I heard it raining some more last night. I rode the Kawasaki mule to the paved road to see if I could get out. The road was flooded right in front of my place, deep enough that I would not drive my car through it, so I stayed home from church.
It's been non stop rain here to.

I hope you're back is in less pain and that hernia operation goes well for you.

My back is much better, practically all healed up. Now I just got to deal with the hernia and recover from that. Looking forward to surgery, let's get the party started!
Still, my friend. Please do not lift heavy things and take it easy after this hernia operation 🙏 :hugs

It's really good news on your back 😉

Last sheep on the sell list was Little Ringo. I took him to Emory auction on Friday, unloaded and came home. Auction was yesterday, Saturday, they will send me the check. I still have a few over 40 sheep, counting this year's ewe lambs that I kept. I stopped in Crockett before coming home and pressure washed out the trailer. I can't stand a dirty trailer and sure wasn't going to park it without washing it out. I pull through the stall far enough so that I can wash all the poop down into the drain. It sure makes a mess and I don't drive off and leave it like that.

I had the hernia surgery on Wednesday, March 18. Had to be there at 7:30 AM, which was hurry up and wait. Nurses came in, did their thing and left, followed by another and another. Finally off to surgery and I woke up in recovery. They sure don't keep anyone in the hospital very long. Oh, you are awake? Lets get you dressed and out of here! This is all delivered with a cheerful smile and a "Isn't this wonderful!" attitude. No, it isn't so wonderful, I feel groggy and goofy, wobbly and sick. Barf bag! I threw up. In a wheel chair, Layne got me in the truck, I threw up again, in the barf bag. He got me in the house and in bed, I went back to sleep. I got up and that evening I wanted a little bowl of cereal. Nope. Stomach rebelled and I threw up all that. I sipped on water, threw that up too. I ate half a saltine cracker and a few sips of water, stayed up until 11, to see if it would stay down, it didn't. Next morning, I made coffee and had 2 cups, I felt a lot better. Later on I had a couple of sausages and some eggs. I was finally able to take a pain pill and took another one at bedtime. Now I'm on day 3. This is starting out much better. It's gonna take me awhile to fully recover, I don't have many plans for the summer. I have to stay down for 6 weeks, but I know better. Because of all the things I do, I'll have to be careful for longer than that. You can bet I'll be careful because I never want to do this again.

My son will start a job soon and be gone. I have good friends and neighbors to help me, so I'm not worried. We reduced my flock to a more manageable level, so that makes it easier. It will probably be fall before I do very much. I'm going to try to give myself plenty of time to recover.

I have a vacation coming up in Greece in September. No way I'm gonna miss that! I'm very motivated to not screw up and do anything stupid.
