Can these grow in containers or must be planted?

the butterfly weed will like a sunny well drained location, but it is a great plant for the orange color and butterfly food and feed (including monarchs) it provides. and also nice in that it only spreads via seeds like common milkweed but better than common milkweed in that it doesn't send out runners underground.

It grows randomly on the farm, maybe 3-4 plants. I always mow it down by accident. 😅
 
Got the long bed situated! Mostly full. Need to add center bracing, finish filling, then plant.
It's an afternoon to night sun area. Kinda tricky. No one seems to like afternoon sun...

Cleared out the corn stalks. Added dirt, then planted the new guys I got to join the surviving pinks.
