Can these grow in containers or must be planted?

It got too dry and lost leaves. Potted up now, will hold water better. Still flowering.

There's some others to hide inside and 2 to dig up to pot and hide inside.
 
My autumn bulbs arrived. But they have to wait a bit longer!
I think I've decided to mix them in the planter along the fence mesh.(last picture, currently houses newest gladiolus bulbs.)

The wildflower planters will get all of the iris plants that are in the 3 planters at the front.

There's 3 small planters with Asian lily to move into these, again, after adding dirt.

And the stray gladiolus will move from the small planter and the pots into these. The astilbe will move somewhere else. Idk where yet.

Getting antsy about the hard freeze and playing musical plants. So, moved all of the potted plants to where they'll go into.

Some of the 2nd set of gladiolus are flowering. With killing frost coming soon, should I cut off the bloom stalks or let them try?
