Well, ACTUALLY....upon further review....

this plant IS in the same family as Heliotrope....Boraginaceae.......so I guess Greensage was right after all.

Off to the right, including that shadow on the rock, that's some knapweed . . . did I win??

Yeah! Good eye...you get extra credit for that.
(I actually got a few pics of that knapweed because a monarch butterfly stopped by to check it out...)

Like knapweed, plant #1 is not native to the USA......
