i have an extra flat pillow i can use, but it is normal for me to end up with blankets and pillows piled on top of my head and upper body with everything else sticking out - my feet do not want to ever be tucked in - they're my radiators...

Neglecting most of the flowers in recent years, @peteyfoozer . The exceptions are sunflowers, zinnias and taller marigolds that can compete with the dahlias in the front yard. Yes, I wish that I had started some pansy and petunia seed in February ... buying the plants for some planters each year

Up by 3 ... but, for no good reason .

We are getting around to "April showers," which means I don't need to be very concerned about cold and having tomatoes planted out and Mother Nature is aiding, altho not replacing, my irrigation efforts with a 1/4 - 1/3 inch of rain now and then.

Reading about some North American country that I haven't seen, while having my breakfast of Corn Pops, Rice Chex and banana. Oolong and now on to the Herbal. (Suppose that is why I haven't seen that country — too busy waiting for the banana boat to come in?) Anyway. Recently learned that western Nebraska has some very high elevation country. I didn't know that!

Morning reading was about eastern Kansas and the Flint Hills/Big Blue River country. Small town of Manhattan ... might be near where our new member @marymary1026 lives. So, how was it decided to call the town Manhattan? Apparently a compromise between one group of settlers from New England and another from Ohio. What could we say, a "middle ground" between the two? There is quite a bit more to the location and history story .

Yeap your wake up scenario is familiar. Reading that early I’m not awake enough to process anything. Your a good sport to share all with us and interesting stuff to place a marker for the next early wake up session with @digitS’

Sometimes I get up and putz around. But mostly I take care of my smarty pants pup food is her first wake up call even if it is still dark outside . She is the apple of my eye after months of battling bad destructive behaviors. She was adopted from a border collie rescue center. She had 4 homes before arriving in my home , took months to undo the unacceptable behaviors and turn her around. She is so smart and really looks after this ole gal now. Protects me with a vengeance if you don’t have any doggie treats …

Today she is having kaniption fit over Chip and Dale’s new family., who have now started a family sporting 3 new kiddos climbing up on her new toys outside in her doggie playpen. She’s not fond about sharing her toys with those greedy little pests. Soon she will be begging for frisbee time.

Coffee is ready. Yesterday I bought 2 tomato plants and 2 cups with cucumber plants in them. All were very wilted and sad looking. I put them in the kitchen sink and watered them several times. They perked up overnight and look good now. Maybe I’ll get them planted today.
I have a head cold, stuffy nose, sore throat and dry hacking cough. I guess I’ll take it easy a few days and try to get over this mess.

A little peppermint oil helped me last night with my stuffy nose. I put a tiny amount on the bridge of my nose and on my pillow.
Eucalyptus works well too

I've been bunged up for months that needs addressing big time

Corn Pops in the bowl — trying to add a little  pop to the morning. The huge, sliced California strawberries help. DW was up earlier than I was but is asleep on the couch.

Rain storm is on the way. Hard to believe that I am becoming somewhat tired of the rain. Sprinkles, seldom should it count as rain but they were very nearly continuous yesterday. Today, there won't be any chance of avoiding the drier and hanging laundry out. Three recent wash days that course has been interfered with because of sprinkles.

Yesterday, our high temperature was 52⁰f (11⁰C). This morning, 46⁰f (8⁰C). Wow, short thermometer. Probably visit the farmers' market this AM and, just might, avoid the heavier sprinkles predicted for the afternoon.

We got 0.99 inches of rain Saturday morning. It poured! Still overcast with some drizzle. I'm VERY tired of the rain and overcast. The previous two Mays we had here were glorious.
