I think that we are finally leaving the 30's Fahrenheit temperatures behind. Laundry day and I may be able to dry the clothes if they are over the lawn in the sun and not under the deck roof. It may not reach 60°f (16°C) but the Weather Service says that we have sunshine in store 
.
The front lawn is shady and is scheduled for mowing and trimming. It shouldn't be wet this afternoon, I'm hoping. Limits on the day's activities with chores AM & PM but what can ya do???
Oh yeah, I have to collect and rinse the dirt off the buckets that were used to cover the warm-season plants on the 2 nights this week when they had some need for them ... and, I could gain some assurance that they wouldn't be toast if it froze. I gave the remainder of the tomato plants to a friend who lost those out of her garden to the frost.
The friend lives close to where the Big Veggie Garden was that we had for years. The last time we drove by, there was what appeared to be a foundation going in right in middle of our garden site. I could ask the widow of our gardening neighbor there but I'm fairly sure that she is in assisted living now and may not want to think about what's happening outside of her previous home.
It didn't bother me to visit our earlier garden site where pine trees have made a start. That was right above the river and it was pleasant to see it returning to nature with still some visible sign of the garden beds at ground level. It was an unusual piece of ground since it was across a gully so the state owned the gully because it was less than 25 feet above the river. There was some level ground connecting it to the owner's property but it was very narrow along a property line and the garden itself was in the shape of a triangle above the river bank. At considerable distance from the residence, I have wondered if any building other than a gazebo for picnics might ever be considered for the location. Wweeellll, the apple tree that was a remnant of the orchard once occupying several acres of nearby ground was a pleasant enough site for our breaks while gardening , years ago and pleasant memories.
