Today is supposed to be the hottest day of 2025, 87⁰f (31⁰C). What's going on? Too soon, so we will have a break from it with clouds, wind and maybe some rain on Thursday ... then, back to hot Springtime weather.

Discussion in Garden Humor about housework for rainy days. No, I gotta get several loads of laundry out on the line – today. Coffee later!

:) Steve
Not here, NW Ohio... overcast, 58-62, feels like it's going to rain any minute. I got morning glories pulled off the fence, chopped out some mulberry seedlings, dragged the wood parts of the hoop house out of the chicken run and the door, did some weed pulling in the garden, fed the dogs/cats, gathered eggs, I feel like I haven't done anything but had TWO cups of coffee.... maybe it was the coffee? Laid down and a package arrived! 8 varieties of beans that I don't know if they are bush, snap, dry, pole... I will search while I rest up. Oh, maybe it was digging 60 foot row of just turning the dirt over and pulling up some largish rocks... nah, that couldn't be why I'm tired...

I’m always quite shocked that the vision of the garden in my mind never seems to manifest itself real life…

the ideas i might have are tempered by a lifetime of trying various things. some failures, some successes, most in between... i try not to get upset about things i can't really control - i can control my expectations and try to keep them lower to moderate. :)

I was handed my morning coffee about 5 minutes ago. This morning's offering is Folgers Crystals Classic Roast with added vanilla ice cream... It wasn't until Starbucks came along that I ever even thought to put ice cream in coffee!! Now it's a now brainer. However, I prefer vanilla to Butter Pecan....very interesting when you get to the bottom of the cup and have a bunch of nuts to eat!

just give me the ice-cream for breakfast... coffee flavored is ok. butter pecan is better.

Love the fresh tilled dirt and as planting progresses up till the first week of July or so...then the pigweed amaranth seems to overtake the garden and my weeding efforts (1 plant spews 10,000 seeds) and it becomes a towering 8 foot jungle of mosquitos.... but I continue to try to win over the weeds each year. Keep me inside for 4 days due to rain in July's heat and BOOM...my garden and spring vision just don't match up...

There's catnip ... but I'm on to the herbal tea mix. Breakfast – Kiks, Honeycomb and Life, in the bowl with Blackberries and Strawberries :).

About the same as yesterday but Ratio was in the cold cereal mix. I've finished 2 of those  skinny boxes and still don't know what i think of that cereal. Probably have some mango slices with the Old-fashioned Oatmeal with my coffee, later.

Need to do some mowing this AM. I whimped out yesterday PM with all the heat. Will wait until after 9:30 AM so the night worker guy across the road isn't disturbed too early. But, that lawn and everywhere a sprinkler can reach will need some water and waiting for the gusty wind & 30% chance of "New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms" makes zero sense .

Soft Rain in my Publix brand Columbian coffee as I chase after a barking dog. She spotted the neighbors sharecropper moving corn into another row. He evidently works a lot of different gardens for elderly folks for taking some home himself. The corn he was moving might be 3 feet or more tall. I have never seen that done before.

The Food Lion I have been shopping at ran out of my extra chocolate creamer......I'm not pleased. So, I had to buy Chocolate caramel creamer. It's okay but not really very chocolately.

So, I took my coffee out on the back screen porch, of course my dog Rags came with. I put the cup on the table and then noticed that one of my pots with cutting in was tipped over and went to set it up and check the soil moisture on all the cuttings in pots. When I got back... EMPTY CUP.!!

Little Miss Ragsy had drunk the whole thing !!

I should've hung a sign on her:
"i drank my Mother's coffee" !!
She is a sensitive little Soul. All I did was pick the cup up, turn and look at her and immediate shame and regret came over her face !!
