On my second cup of coffee. Yesterday I almost missed church, by accident I realized it was Sunday. I had just enough time to shower, get dressed and go!
Had a pop up storm yesterday afternoon. Wind blew rain sideways for an hour, dumped 1 1/2” of rain, way too many lightning strikes, one hit so close that it startled me and it blew out the power for everyone on my road.
This morning is foggy and HOT. Read that as steam bath. Gonna be a sweaty miserable morning, just to get chores done.

With company over the weekend and a barbecue struggle – because of the cool, windy, sprinkly weather – I must have been tired. Slept 8 ½ hours and that is unusual for me. Feel awake!

Finished a bowl of oatmeal with raisins, dried longan, brown sugar and cream cheese, yellow watermelon slice on the side. What? Well, I am a fan of rambutan and lychee canned although I can't imagine thinking that even in early adulthood. Somewhere along in there, I discovered Asian markets. Okay, on to my herbal tea after finishing that mug of, ahem, oolong :).

...this is Lynx
The neighbor has a cat that looks very similar :). She has a little white on her. It has been out probably because of the warm mornings. The temperature is above 60f (16C) this AM. The neighbor claims that she is very spoiled and comfortable indoors. The cat showed up as a stray just after she moved here and made herself at home –– despite there being 2 very old dogs living there. I see next to nothing of the kitty during the cooler/cold months ;).

Somewhat over 40, my neighbor is on her way to being something of a cat lady. Tom cats visit, as they will, frequently. She set out a pet carrier with an open door and a pillow hidden behind a bush in her front yard. Last Winter, she had a small house inside her fenced backyard. It had a power cord to it :D. Tom cat has a warm, little indoors to stop at during their tours ...

Parked beside my oolong after starting front yard sprinklers at 6:30. And, after a breakfast of Cream of Wheat with longan and cranberries ... I think that I may mixing my lines of latitude too much. It seemed a little sour even with the brown sugar :D.

Took the time to post a  silly on @AMKuska 's Bird thread hoping that Bay' puts one of her cute birdie pictures on there :). We need a "Prof Braun" to ID those babies (finches?).

I could comment on the Blue Heron and Sharpshinned Hawk that was above the road in front of the house yesterday. I don't know why the hawk was so riled up about a heron. I think Big Blue was about to land and say, "Okay, you want some of this? I'll smack you with my 6 foot wingspan and this beak can go straight through you, you little twerp!" Where's that professor? But, surely herons don't go into trees to raid hawk nests ..?
