Sometimes aphids can build up so much they damage or kill plants. Sometimes they don't. I don't get that excited bout them until I see the numbers getting really high. Then I'll probably hit them with Spinosad. Spray just before dark to minimize damage to beneficials.

It's so true but the waiting is the hard part. I lost all my tomato plants last year to these buggers and early blight.
To me it depends on how bad the infestation is. When someone says flea beetles are not a problem they haven;t seen dead eggplant due to flea beetles. All gardening is local. We all have different conditions.

Harvested the onions. This is less than half of what I planted. The variety was recommended by one of our members on here and the onions did fantastic! This is my first year successfully growing onions and I couldn't be happier. They could have stayed in the gardens bit longer but I saw that 1 bulb was being chewed on so I harvested. They will cure for couple of weeks and than I'll either braid them or cut the stems off and store them in a basket. I cant wait to eat one!

I wish I could let the guineas in my garden to get the grasshoppers. But then they would keep coming back and that could run into problems. LOL
I am cautiously letting our 3 ducks in the garden. They do nibble on the greens but mostly they are searching for bugs.

i didn't know you had guineas there @baymule ?! lol

I have a trio. I call them the Looney Goonies. The 2 hens set a clutch of eggs under a portable building. The male was so lonely that he stayed under the building with them. They hatched 11, most died, got down to 6 strong chicks, them Mr. Snake showed up. I found him in the chicken coop eating eggs and called for Paris, my female Great Pyrenees. She HATES snakes. I chopped it with a shovel and she shook it to death. Once dead, she kills snakes again and again. She has literally shook them to pieces.
