Cabbages are looking great and the peas are growing like crazy.

The beans are doing well too. I may have planted way too many beans but we enjoyed the home canned beans so much last year that I wanted to can a lot more this year.

And i am so excited to report that my tomatoes are actually thriving this year!

Its finally bean harvest time! These were so good slightly sauteed in butter and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Even my son loved them!

It's hot and humid here now so harden tasks are done in the early morning and later afternoon time.

I have been so busy the past two weeks. The beans are being harvested and I've already canned 18 quart jars! My goal is to can 70 quart jars and I think we might make it :)

Strawberries are finally slowing down but the raspberries and blueberries have started ripening. Always something yummy to eat!

How zucchini loves to grow lol. I missed couple of zucchini and they ended up growing huge like a baseball bat lol. I made two loaves of zucchini bread today.

I also dug up some taters and have been enjoying those.

I love this time of the year. I am busy all day long and sleep so well at night. And I feel so blessed to see the jars being filled up for winter use.

I hope everyone elses gardens are doing great this year!

Here are some pics :

I feel like I am so behind on my garden chores. We had VBS last week and I barely had time to do anything else. The kids had so much fun at VBS tho!

Today we spent most of the morning harvesting kakai pumpkins blackberries, pinto beans, some corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers.

Few of the kakai pumpkins had something burrowing in them so we harvested the seeds and got over 2 cups! They were washed and are in the dehydrator now.

I made fresh salsa with the few tomatoes and it was so good with lunch (we make something called haystacks which is basically a taco salad).

After lunch I got busy making BlackBerry rhubarb jam and canned 9 pints.

Then I made a double batch bread and butter pickles (our favorite!) .

I am tired but the day isn't over yet. We still have to harvest squash, transplant sweet corn and start some painted mountain corn.

My house is a mess but it will remain that way until fall lol.

Thank you for such a great compliment. You are so sweet :)

There are a lot of weeds and bug damage but those will never go away so I just enjoy the chaos lol.
