The garlic is a good stand & looks healthy. I hope mine turns out half as well.
Last year I figured out that I needed to fertilize it more than I was in the past and I think that made all the difference.

I hope your garlic harvest is wonderful!

Has my first seedling sale from my front yard. I also met few new neighbors. It was cold and cloudy so not a a great weather for standing outside. I am grateful for how much I made. It helps with some of the cost of supplies. I will have another go at it this sunday and again in two weeks. It's also nice to chat with other gardeners!

I feel so behind in all the garden tasks this year. The weather is still being crazy so I have so many seedlings ready to be transplanted but I cant yet. Oh well.

Two of our cochin he s went broody and 5 adorable chicks hatched! I also sold three pairs of the cochin.

In the garden we have been harvesting so many yummy salad greens and herbs. The mint has exploded too. We even got few handful of asparagus and enough rhubarb to make jam with!
The berry plants and canes are getting loaded with blooms. I hope this will be the year for good berry harvest.
We have been covering the potato plants on any of the frosty night with hay and they seem to grow faster lol. Weird.
I need to collect another loads of hay and spread it out.

But the greatest news is that the plants are thriving this year and I think it's because of the lime we added late winter.

I'm tired but I don't mind.

Shared some my sourdough starter with a friend and showed her how to use it for bread making.
She also dug up about 20 or so raspberry plants.

The first picture is of the bean trellises and the planting area which was thoroughly weeded today. I will plant the beans this week. Chamomile is about to start flowering. My chives are flowering too. My cabbages have survived few frosts and are loving the rain we had this weekend. The strawberry plants have hundreds of flowers and I am looking forward to a nice harvest.
I am so tempted to yank out one garlic to see what it's doing under the soil but I will wait lol.
I've planted corn, beans, squash and cucumber seeds in trays.
It's going to be a busy couple of weeks.

That garlic is really looking good. :thumbsup At one point, I was growing that much; but my poorly-drained soil meant that each year was "iffy". DW & I decided to plant only in raised beds from now on... fewer, but hopefully more dependable.
Thank you! We eat a lot of garlic. What we do for the garlic bed is different from all the other beds, we make a trench in between the raised row and dump wheelbarrows full of leaves that spend several weeks in the chicken coop. We cover this with the garden soil and I plant the garlic. This year with the addition of lime the garlic looks even healthier.

I spent most of my day either transplanting corn or sowing more corn seeds in trays (sweet corn). In the afternoon we laid down fabric and planted painted mountain corn seeds which we directly sowed. I am hoping they will do well!
We are supposed to bv get more rain tonight and tomorrow so I will be busy planting more things tomorrow. But for now the couch is calling my name. I
