That is also a very good thing to do to keep the stock animals hydrated and the water clean. Rubber ducks and gold fish in stock tanks are great at keeping water fresh especially with a water filler function attached to a hose and faucet.Look at what I just found (and saved in "Gardening Articles" under "Gardening" on my laptop:

 Just add a plant or two not scrumptious for stock animals and you have a pond that serves two purposes. #1 to hydrate the stock animals and #2 to keep the water clean . Oh and the fish eat the mosquito larvae… horses don’t eat fish..
