I have started mums from cuttings over winter in the greenhouse. By spring they are ready to transplant in 4” pot and ready to plant outside. They do great if the moles, voles, gophers or ground squirrels don’t get ‘em… then again a plants death is not always from the gardeners lack of trying. Some plants are better off with a simple RIP.

@Shades-of-Oregon , do you use rooting compound?
By rooting compound do you mean root hormone? Sometimes I use a root hormone depends on the type of plant. Some plants only need a dip in willow water. The trick with growing from cuttings are varied depending on the plant, time of year and many other factors . I prefer a soilless sterile medium when planting cuttings.

Finally, after towing stuff around I will be back to finish clearing the 3rd 12 ft tomato row.
Had to change shirts--too hot! :(
As I collected the other day, I also made a pile of past-it or spoiled fruit.
I kept thinking of how proud @heirloomgal would be of me collecting tomatoes for their seeds!! :hugs

OOPS! Did it again...More seeds bc I screwed up my 2025 seed starting!!! :rant
SeedsNow has $10 off your order. I ordered from their "Samples." Check out how many seeds I am getting. REALLY you don't need too many seeds for your needs.
I am thinking that the Sunn hemp would be a great cover crop for the bed south of the garage, full sun.
I am harvesting from 15 red and green okra seeds that DD planted for me bc I fooled her, in mid July--and the average person doesn't need the 100+ okra plants that I usually grow every year. I know that had I planted them in May, I would be swimming in frozen okra for the winter.
Just a thought...

Salsify! :D

I've always been curious to try that perennial vegetable! I hope you post about how it goes. Apparently the roots are very delicious. And the lemon bomb, er er, I mean lemon balm is such a lovely smell. I have a big patch this year and even though I don't eat it, I rip pieces of the leaves all the time just to inhale the fragrance. Aroma therapy two words is real! lol
