Ok, she's been in a cage for 2 weeks and no egg yet.

I wonder if it's taking a long time to break her broodiness cause she was about 2 weeks broody when I found a cage on craigslist.

Ridge, cage is on blocks. Anything else I can do? Should I get her out? I think she will just go back to the nest if I do that and I can't block it cause the other hens need it.

Two weeks? Usually for me three days is enough. I'd let her out and see what she does. If she goes back to the nest put her back in the cage and take a photo. Not just because we like photos but maybe we can pot something.

She is broken from being broody when she stops sitting on the nest and rejoins the flock, not when she lays an egg.

Ridge, I meant to check with you before I left for Idaho but got busy and forgot. I could have let her out sooner, darn it.

So I took her out and she stayed away from the nest box all day and then she laid an egg! Yay

Thanks for your support and advise. Now I know better for next time. But I hope there won't be a next time.
