I came across this today and thought I'd post it. Essiac does work for some cancer cases and other diseases. This video tells you how to grow and harvest one of the ingredients called Sheep Sorrel.

They recommend that you go to www.essiacUS.com to get the DVD that tells more.

You can purchase the seeds here and this site I am finding is a great place to purchase unusual seed and medicinal seeds. I purchased some Blood Root cuttings last week.

as well as the other ingredient for essiac, burdock root seeds:

Slippery Elm:

and Turkey Rhubarb:

With Herbs in the title of this forum why not call it Herbs and Medicinals... it might attract more varied information for folks to explore

I bought seeds for an African plant called cancer bush. Couldn't get any to germinate. I believe the preparation made from the seeds is available to purchase on the net, tho. And I'm pretty sure sheep sorrel is a weed that grows around here. I think my mom called it sheep shire.

Thank you for the post. As a cancer survivor who also has other cancer survivors in the family, I am always interested in herbal remedies that could help prevent cancer cells from growing. The more I read about stuff like this, the more I realize the vital importance of researching possible cancer-fighting foods.

Folks, be sure to get your yearly check-ups. I skipped a few of mine, and the cancer that I had would have been much easier to deal with had it been caught earlier. As it is, I've spent 20 years dealing with the lingering side effects of radiation therapy. (Still, any day when I wake up alive is a good day!!!)

About every two years I do an essiac cleanse for about 3 weeks as a prevenative/curative... for cancer is around long before you are aware of it. I was discussing essiac on another forum with an herbalist and she says she has seen it cure several cases of cancer. Along with the hoxey formula which is mostly herbal essiac is a leading choice. You dont have to wait for disease to strike to use it. Except for the slippery elm bark I plan to be growing the ingredients next year. I can even grow the tree for Horizon herbs offers the seeds but it would be a long time till harvest. .. but its not hard to purchase on a good herbal site.

Im thinking of attending a seminar in Missoula regarding Essiac Tea in October. part of the day I think will be dedicated to learning to grow it. I'll report back if I indeed do go. The only thing to hold me up is driving through the Bitteroot pass... its gotta be clear.
