Great looking dehydrated spuds, Mary! And great directions for dehydrating, Bay! I usually make it through the winter using my potatoes and plant what's left in the spring, but it's nice to have an alternative.

I can vouch for Major's brick. It is a very fine brick, a beautiful, deep rich red color. It would be useful for a doorstop, garden ornament or klonking bad bugs with. @Carol Dee you might want to take him up on that trade.....jus' sayin'....

@ninnymary I have no idea when I will break even, I do not do math. :p
@baymule I might have left them sit out of water too long after slicing. (I will also slice thinner next time, or cube) My pan was stainless steel. Do not own an enamel one. We try to get them in the ground on Good Friday. That may be too early this year after the big snow we just got and an early April Easter day.
@Smart Red There are WAY to many to plant in the spring, got to try to save them from shriveling into oblivion or rotting.
@majorcatfish I am still scared of the pressure canner! I have yet to have much success when I use it and lose produce to spoilage after all that work!

Carol, thank you so much for the unexpected gift. It was such a warm surprise. It was so perfect! I loved your homegrown honey and those wellies on the cup are beautiful. It is so me. :) Did you make the potholder? I'm very impressed with it. Can't wait to make a cup of mint tea. I can smell it even while it's in the bag. I see you are putting your dehydrator to good use. From the bottom of my heart I thank you! :hugs

Aww Mary, you are so welcome. Yes I made the potholder. DH likes a bit of honey in his mint tea. I like both straight up! ;) Thanks again for getting and mailing the dehydrator to me. I plan to give it a workout!
hugs, CAROL DEE
