I will let DH know. The original plants came from his parents garden. So glad you are enjoying it. 
So far it's been contained probably because it's surrounded by bricks and slate pavers. When I see one starting to grow between the bricks I quickly pull the bricks out and pull the plant. So far so good. Yet I've never used it to make hot tea with. The kids love eating the leaves and I put it in fruit salads or in a pitcher of water.
Mary it is real easy to dry. I did not use a dehydrator but advice I learned someplace here on TEGNyboy, I have mint growing in the ground contrary to Lesa's advise.

Cut fresh stems of mint and place in a brown paper bag. Staple top of bag shut and place in your frost free refrigerator for several weeks until mint leaves are crispy. I find they keep their color better than air drying.
This batch will go into seal saver bags with all air taken out. I still have a full crate to process. They are all sprouting BIG time.
