Not by what all the videos say, you have to move the little flap up, then fold the pollen under where the flap was.

Too funny.....Well, the second flower I thought I did good on, fell off, stem and all, so no good. Did the 3rd one very easy, so fingers crossed. Two more coming up so far.

After 3 years, I finally have my first vanilla bean orchid flower pod!!!View attachment 25886

OK, update....
Out of five flowers, I ended up with two that will turn into vanilla beans. Now the long wait, they stay on the vine for at least 6 months before I get to start the long harvesting process. Also waiting to see if more flower pods come out.

i can't remember where i saw it but there was a good vid of how they grow, pick and dry the beans. i'm not sure if it was youtube or PBS. lol too early in the morning for me ...
