Question: Do you know why they are wrapped like that? Is that for selling the corn?

It is in food saver bags. That's how I put up my corn too. And okra and squash and the pecans I shelled last fall and the meat I bar-b-cue and package in meal portions............... Ah luves mah food saver!

I'm going to get some food saver bags!!!! It preserves a lot better in them than just freezer bags. I think I have gotten to use my food saver 4 or 5 times since I got it.

I use mine almost daily. It's one of the most useful appliances I ever bought. Broaden your thinking. It isn't just for freezer bags. A block of cheese sealed up in a vacuum bag will keep for weeks in your refrigerator without molding. I buy my coffee beans in large bags to save money, then pack the amount I use in a week into vacuum bags to preserve the freshness. Oxidation is one of the most destructive forces on food. By placing it in a vacuum you limit its exposure to oxygen.
