Surly they have gone off by now 😆

I think a sort of marshmallow substance from the video @Shades-of-Oregon posted

no, it's more like a mixture of fat and sugar and as much air as they can get into it plus faint other flavors like vanilla. marshmallow would be an improvement but it wouldn't be shelf stable or firm enough.

I am a curious soul … so asked Suri about Twinkies , how they are made ?

The creamy filling in Twinkies isn't actual cream but a mix of sugar, corn syrup, vegetable shortening (like partially hydrogenated oils and tallow), water, and salt, thickened with cellulose gum and other stabilizers like polysorbate 60 for texture and moisture. It uses artificial flavors for that classic vanilla taste, not real dairy or fruit, giving it a long shelf life.

If they ever come to this side of our waters. I'll definitely be giving them a miss.

yes, you can certainly do better by using a bit of butter and powdered sugar if you need frosting or if you want a cream puff filling ours is basically water, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla - nothing odd in that at all...
