Garden irrigation help!

So I'm gonna be planting flowers. This looks dry as heck, but hubby used the moisture meter and was like “its moist under!” Doesn't like all of it need to be WET for seeds to start? I'm thinking the easiest way is to get rid of the furrows, keep the hose so that there’s less resistance for the water to get around cause there’s really no reason that the furrows need to be so deep?

You could level out the furrows not really necessary. Furrows were used when farmers used irrigation open ditches with gate controls . Sliding the gates in open ditch systems control water flow onto furrows designed for agricultural acreage.

I use soakers and it’s generally a choice to furrow or not to furrow… I don’t… in some areas and do in others. Once plants grow in with the addition of shade the soil will not be noticeably different as the full exposure to the sun shows now.
