Garlic

Got my garlic samplers planted last weekend after they spent a couple of weeks in the fridge because I didn't know where I wanted to plant them in the gardern. I planted German Porecelain, Northern White, Silver Rose, and Italian Late. Three heads of each variety separated out by cloves was a whole lot more garlic than I had anticipated, but I can't wait to see what sprouts in the spring. I will probably mulch with straw in a couple of weeks.

Same here - I planted 100 cloves. Our weather here has been so warm, I'm wondering if my garlic will start sprouting - if it does, and then we do happen to get freezing temps - then what? Will it compromise all my work?

I want to plant garlic but have never grown it before. I almost ordered several times but didn't know what type to get or where I wanted to put them, etc. Maybe next year! It is on my list!

The german red garlic is really nice and easy to grow. Everybody should try that!
