Any idea on a back pack for her would be appreciated. I was watching a dog trainer using this method to help with controlling the pulling. They used water bottles. I'd love a little cart for her when I go to the shops. I think it would make her feel useful. That might be a silly idea but I've seen that before.

I have a backpack for my dog, and I've used it a lot. I put a baggie right full of rice or navy beans in each of the 'saddlebags' on either side. He is about 30 pounds so I think too much more might cause problems. I like it for the bit of extra work it gives him, so he tires out a bit more. I don't use it in the summer though as I think it would overheat him being made of polyester and not breathable. Unfortunately, I can confirm that it did not help with pulling on the leash. :( I went to a dog trainer for that, and she showed me how to give a correction, and that was that. Pulling and ignoring the holder of the leash is definitely a respect thing, that is the way to end bad leash manners. And I can tell you my dog had unimaginably poor leash manners at 1 year old!

I like your cart idea. Getting dogs to do things that they might find hard or uncomfortable really helps to build confidence. I noticed a very distinct change in my dogs lack of confidence around other dogs when he learned how to stand on the back of a bent over human. He was quite afraid to get up there, all four legs sprawled out and not wanting to stand up. But slowly, slowly he built up courage and can jump right up there now, and right back down no sweat. He got so much more sure of himself. Now he can skip rope with my daughter, another scary thing initially. People used dogs to pull carts in Europe for years!

I have a study harness, as recommended along with her lead. Suddenly my brain started up💡 . I
If I could find sturdy little bags I could somehow attach these bags 🎒 to her harness. A two in one solution

Now I have to find a couple of bags to fix either side.
She loves bananas and the odd carrot , I could put her favourite little food treats into these bags. Then add her water bottle and treats when we go out for a walk

Nancy has calmed down a lot. But still walks a few steps in front. Not good but much better.

I've seen them here in UK and a dog carrying a little basket. The latter even on their own to pick up small items from a local shop for his pensioner owner. I was fascinated. That was one clever dog. The shop keepers loved him. He would take a note in his basket. Just amazing
