Griping about the weather

It is breezy and cloudy here and I had some weird weather impressions but it is really too hot for me to think "fall." With a high of 87, it is a little cooler than usual but I was real uncomfortable when the sun broke thru strongly a few times while I was in the gardens at mid-day.

I don't know what the expectations are on winter around here. The way it is going, my guess is that there won't be a September frost in my gardens! That is nothing but a guess, tho'.

The next door neighbor is in Seattle this weekend with all of her grandkids. They run down to a 2 year-old and the zoo and aquarium are on the schedule! She said that it may rain there and made a face. I'm neither a little kid nor a grandmother trying to herd several of them thru venues like that but - Dang, I might appreciate a rainy day! Even Seattle has been hot & dry this summer.

No September frost would be a good thing for me since I have such a bad track record for remembering to cover my plants.

Early this morning I was also reminded of fall, but as we unstacked- loaded -drove home- unloaded- and restacked 2 tons of alfalfa all while sweating buckets the feeling vaporized!

So over this 80 days & 80 nights of rain, the weatherman says unsettled weather
Is going to stay thu next week. Do not want to sound ungrateful but I am ready for a brown lawn
It's to the point where you have to mow twice a week.
Plus with all this rain it's hard to go out to the garden and spray
For mold, rot, pests etc etc etc.
looked at the raingauge this morning and we got another 2" last night
so since friday night thats a total of 2.6"

but i will say this about this weekends cool weather the windows are open a/c turned off and the power meter is barely moving,
but its not going to last they are calling for the temp to go back up over the next couple days..

wonder what winter is going to bring us....

I'm very concerned about winter this year. The weather pattern all summer has brought cooler wetter systems down on us again and again. If this pattern holds, we could get buried. I have serious doubts about having the Durango on the road before winter gets here. We are really going to miss the 4-WD.
