Interesting. I'm guessing the amount of flowers is a response to the temp in an effort to produce as many babies as possible

For beginning and learning I would try with something that's faster to see a result with, like Genovese or Thai basil. That way you can clip them and harvest without having to wait for 70+ days like peppers or tomatoes

Thai basils. I guess I can have that from one of our supermarkets here. I will definitely try to start with that herb. thank you for the information and details...

You can try it. Ive tried to plant cucumbers, and they seem to strive. so I guess its ok.
