On another message board I frequent, someone pointed out the website for Big Horse Creek Farm: http://www.bighorsecreekfarm.com/Default.htm

From the site, "We specialize in the collection and propagation of antique and heirloom apple varieties of the Appalachian Mountains as well as many other apple varieties of the world. We seek to preserve these old varieties in the hope that others may appreciate the incredible diversity of apples that once was a part of the cultural heritage of the Appalachian region."

Wow, they have an amazing number of apples. Great site, I've been thinking of getting an apple tree but need a low chilling one.

Too many! I emailed them to see what might grow here in the south, and they sent back a list separated into early/middle/late maturing types. Now I just have to go through them and look at the pictures and descriptions to see what I might like.

This is just what I was looking for. I need to figure this out before spring.
