Welcome from the San Francisco bay area. Tell us more about your garden. What do you like to grow and how big is it?
Mary
Hi Mary,
We bought this house 3 years ago from a retired couple, who love gardening very much but can't manage it any longer and decided to move to bigger city, where they can much easily receive necessary medical care. The garden is about 2000sqm, includes two ponds. It's kind of house that is not easily sold here, as many buyers are not willing to spend time and money to maintain such a big (and with a bit slope) garden.
So we bought it at the very good timing and saved tons of money - originally we were looking some newly built house, which charges additional 15,000 Euro minimum for a small garden (without trees or any design, just a rough garden with lawn). In short we inherited treasures as I really love gardening, but never had a chance to own a real garden before I moved to Germany.
After moving for 3 years, this year I decided to re-design the garden by dividing it into 7 sub areas and planted according to it's conditions. Many small projects are going on. With the greenhouse built last autumn I could do a lot sowing and propagation works under cover in the spring, so far most of the vegetables and cut flowers harvested grew from seeds.
Well, it's a pleasure to find here, and look for the interaction with more gardening friends.
