And I have Rose and Citrus Geranium, so maybe we are about even....

Very good question... I am growing oregano also. Last year I bought a plant of greek oregano. I was given some seeds that were mark oregano and I bought seed this year that is mediterranean. I know that the two seeds that I am growing are different because they look different ... but is their a difference between mediterrain and greek?

I am also growing

Dani Basil
Genovese Basil
Common Thyme
Sweet Margoram
Dill
Coridander
Purple Coneflower
and maybe lavendar (it hasn't strouted yet)
Flat leaf parsley

I think the greek and the italian are the same actually. I have the greek... but it was just like the italian I've had before. I saw no difference. Mexican oregano is different though... much more pungent and has a spice to it. ;)

I'm lacking in herbs this year. I lost several basil plants to high winds and now I don't know what to do.

What I do have is:

(3) spicy globe basil
Greek Oregano
Curl Leaf Parsley
Flat Leaf Parsley
Dill
Thyme
Garlic Chives
Golden Sage
Rosemary
Lavender

And that's it for me!

I lost:
(3) Lemon Basil
(3) Cinnamon Basil
(2) Thai Basil
(2)Lettuce Leaf Basil

I did some digging on oregano a few years ago because my mom did not like what she was growing...:/
It had a good strong scent, but lacked flavor. We discovered it was O. vulgaris, commonly sold as Italian or Greek oregano. It is more invasive, has a pink/purple flower.
After more digging, and much confusion ... ... she is more happy with O. vulgaris hirtum , true Greek oregano, white flower and much less aggressive. The flavor will literally numb your tongue.
I think it depends on your preference for flavor/bloom as to which one is the best to grow.

O. vulgare hirtum

My herb garden ... and spreading into many other beds ...
Some make wonderful perennial plants, bloom longer and smell nice ... AND ... NO critter will eat them!

Sage
Lemon Balm
Oregano - Greek
French Tarragon
Dill
Lavender - Lady, Munstead (Vera seedlings in the works)
Basil - Bush, Cinnamon, Italian large leaf
Creeping Thyme
Spearmint - (I killed chocolate )
Parsley - curled
Angelica - archangelica and gigas
Hyssop - officinalis
Lemon Balm
Chive - and Garlic Chive
Tansy
Calendula
Bergamot
Nepeta - Catnip, Blue Wonder, Pink Dreams
Yarrow
Lemongrass is rooting

I did the Thai basil last year ... beautiful blooms that attracted loads of bees ... :happy_flower

We are slackers, huh? :gig

I have:
chives
greek oregano
basil
thyme
sage
chocolate mint
pineapple mint
rosemary

I find I always need more chives and rosemary. I think I will buy a few plants because I don't want to divide mine and reduce output while it grows back.

Crikeys! I don't have much:

Rosie basil
Lesbos basil (hahaha, laugh all you want, it tastes like a cross between Thai and licorice basil and makes the most amazing pesto)
Rosea & English lavender
rosemary
lemon thyme, French thyme, creeping thyme
marjoram
Dalmatian sage
chives
flatleaf parsley
tansy
pennyroyal, apple mint, chocolate mint, peppermint, spearmint, "Jim's Fruit" mint, grapefruit mint, catmint
softneck & hardneck garlic (from the grocery store, no particular kind)
I think there's a bergamot or two somewhere under the mulch, unless it croaked over the winter
lemon verbena
southernwood artemisia
woodruff
cardamom
spread some dill seed in one of the garden beds, I've forgotten where. Guess I'll find out shortly...
