OK. I have an experiment going with the Bradford pear cuttings. Everything I have read says these are fairly hard to grow from cuttings so I figured they would be a good medium to test. Plus the branches were brought over in a load of brush to be burned so I figure nothing lost but a little time, honey and rooting hormone.

I am using Aunt Sue honey and Shultz Take Root powder. All cuttings have the same medium to root in, they are all about the same size and since they are supposedly hard to root I did the mallet cut on all of them. I have 1 of each in a BIG cutting (we're talking small tree here) and 6 each of the smaller cuttings. All have been watered and are in the same area.

I'll update from time to time to let ya'll know how it's going, if at all....

This sounds great!
A good study. Base line set, so we can compare results.
How about another study group in a different set of settings?
Just an idea.

I'm game. Should we use something different for rooting? Perhaps something not as hard to root? You wanna do the next batch or shall I?
