Peepers?...do you mean frogs? Just heard the first frogs last night. It'll be too cold for them tonight-- 26F by dawn.

Yes peepers are tiny frogs, the ones I have are about size of quarter.

Trying to do better, I am; woke early, so rose early.

Not difficult this morning and only the first it was. "Usual rising time" Since the first day, of last week Monday.

I'm up before usual too. I like getting up early, but today it was a headache that got me rousted out of a warm bed.

I have something in common with him, when I'm outdoors my dh calls me with a whistle, and like him I sometimes answer with a bark, but am "mostly obedient".
