I Think She Smokes Dandelion

I like her; she's funny... and knowledgeable. I love our dandelions. I pick them for salads, stir fries, and a green vegetable. Our horses dined on them all the years of their lives, along with clover, various grasses, and other nourishing plants. Plus you can't get a better backdrop for a photo (of a pet or person) than a field of golden dandelions. Children are endlessly amused by making dandelion chains to wear. She is right, dandelions are multi-usedful life forms. No mono-culture lawns for us!

Can't help but think that maybe she was smoking something else before she made that video.

While I am skeptical of the internet claims for the benefits of certain plants, I don't automatically discount them either. However, if you want to claim the statements of another herbalist as testimonial, it would not be wise to choose someone who is "no longer with us".

While I don't eat them, I allow dandelions to grow freely in my lawn, to feed the ground-dwelling bees which dwell on my property.

My old Italian aunts would pick in empty fields every spring. with a lot of vinegar was a spring tonic.

My ex husband's ancestors, also Italian, Nyboy, picked dandelions and mustard. It was a part of their everyday diet, my ex used to say.

Old thread ... I make dandelion wine and dandelion salve ..Susan is absolutely a wealth of information if you are into herbalism for which I am..I make many of my own medicines from herbs that I grow..
