Last year I planted quick-maturing cabbage plants two weeks earlier than a later-maturing variety. They all were ready at the same time. Things seldom work out exactly as planned.digitS' said:Of course the soil is likely to be warming over the course of a month but you could sow the 1st time, wait 2 weeks and sow again -- and have both plantings show up on the same calendar day!
Most of the things on my list I would cover in case of a predicted heavy frost, especially when they are just sprouting. I got a bunch of sheets at a thrift store really inexpensively. With some rocks to hold down the corners, they work great.
