Oh so awesome to watch those tiny things grow like that! I have to get you some pictures of mine. They've gotten insanely big so quickly. I have to even trellis one so I got to get ready to start tying them up this weekend. My cantaloupe are getting huge too and I have to trellis them as well. Going to try to use woman's knee highs! Worked last year on my cantaloupes, couldn't hurt to try it on the watermelons... though some of my watermelon will get to be 25 lbs!

Holy moley!! 25# watermelon! I never thought of putting them on a trellis... ours are just growing all over the ground! LOL

Oh yes... I post mine to facebook as well. I'm sure that some people are getting tired of seeing my garden and specifically my watermelon!

I try every year for watermelon, never had success. This year my seedlings died so I bought seedlings from Lowes. They've been in the ground about a month and haven't really done anything.

Awww! It's so cute tho! Didn't you say you had some cold up there tho? It's super hot down here... it's been in the 90s and one day we had 100... that was before the official start of summer... LOL Maybe the ground is too cold?

Yeah it's been cold here. Besides all the rain (and hail) we've had 2 weeks ago it was highs in the 50s. Really.

It's back up to 70-80s but it's been cloudy/rainy most of the time.

SuperGirl, have you ever tried Sugar Babies? I have had pretty good success with them, here. I bet, on a good year-you could grow them too.

I tried them a few years back and did get one that was baseball sized by the time frost hit. I'll have to try again with that variety.

It says 100 days. I've never grown it. Think I might buy it for next year and start it inside really early. .
